Enemy: Time
Mezzo Soprano, Flute, Bassoon, Violin, Cello and Piano
“Life flees and does not take a step back.” With this sonnet by Petrarch as a reference, “Enemy: Time” unfolds from the author’s personal anxieties regarding the act of composition and the established conventions in the contemporary music scene. The work is divided into two parts: a musical one that explores random processes, polymetrics, delays, and loops; and a written one that, in the score, unfolds as a composition diary and a reflection on essential and immoral feelings, paying homage to the works of Marquis de Sade, Georges Bataille, and Anaïs Nin.
